The incredible series of snaps were taken by photographer and computer scientist Michael Fersch during a trip to Iceland
Each of the images was snapped along Iceland's Laugavegur trail and show stunning rainbows crossing lakes and landscapes
Michael, from Germany, said: 'I love taking pictures, and decided to concentrate on landscapes after visiting Iceland.
'Landscape pictures are the perfect combination of travelling and being outside in nature.
'It
can be difficult to get the pictures, as it involves a lot of hiking
with heavy equipment, and the weather can be unpredictable.
'Clear
blue sky isn't my preferred option - with rainbow pictures, I think the
best shots are when you have heavy clouds, rain and some sunshine.'
Speaking about taking the images,
Fersch said: 'Landscape pictures are the perfect combination of
travelling and being outside in nature'
Fersch revealed that clear blue skies
are not his preferred option when it comes to taking images of rainbows.
Instead he believes that the best shots are when you have 'heavy
clouds, rain and some sunshine'
Another important factor with shooting
rainbows, Fersch stated, is lighting. He said his favourite combination
is that of dark clouds and some sun rays (pictured above)

He
added: 'Lighting is also very important - I like the combination of
dark clouds and some sun rays. This is also the ideal combination for
rainbows, and it adds a great contrast.
'The
landscape in Iceland is very interesting and spectacular - I live in
Bavaria near the Alps, and the landscape is wonderful but it's hard to
get a view without any man-made things.
'This
is no problem in Iceland - you could be at the top of a mountain and
see for hundreds of kilometres, without any sign of civilisation.
'That's really amazing for me.'

The photographer, pictured, said that
he enjoyed shooting in Iceland as where he lives in Bavaria 'the
landscape is wonderful but it's hard to get a view without any man-made
things'
